Festival Event Schedule

The gohei (staff) to be displayed on the floats is brought from Hachimangu Shrine to the gohei (staff) lodge of each yama group.

All 12 groups (including those that do not perform Kyogen that year) and the Naginatayama participate in this event.

After being awakened by the drum, the participants take a morning bath to purify themselves, and then the goheimochi lead the procession led by the kanabokubiki, a guard of the shrine.

The participants are expected to arrive at Hachimangu Shrine by 7:00 a.m.
