After a short rest at Hachimangu Shrine, the Tachiwatari depart for the Otabisho.

At 9:10 a.m., as the last of the Tachiwatari leave the precincts of the shrine, one of the Nakauro in hakama of the nagatogumi pulls out a bamboo pole with a tag “Hajimete nagatogumi” and waves it three times toward the shrine, then presents it to the pavilion of the Ichibanzan (first mountain).

In response, the Ichibanzan begins to play a musical accompaniment.

This is called “Okina maneki.

The second mountain is sent to its place of dedication to the music, and the Hikiyama Kyogen begins.
