Festival Event Schedule

On the day of the festival, the “yakkoburi,” as seen in the pictures of the Daimyo procession, follow the lanterns on the morning parade, shouting heroically and clapping their hands and feet in an amusing manner.

When they reach the torii gate, they enter the gate waving their long swords in the shape of the character for “entering.

This is called “torii iriri no shiki.

The “yakkoburi” is designated as an important cultural property of the prefecture.
